Fakta Menarik Mengenai Albert Einstein Sempena Ulang Tahun ke 137

Beberapa fakta menarik mengenai genius Albert Einstein.
Sebagai inspirasi untuk kita terus melangkah ke arah 'genius'.

"The most beautiful thing we can experience is the mysterious. It is the source of all true art and science." - Albert Einstein
Best-known for developing the general theory of relativity and the mass-energy equivalence, one of the most genius and absent-minded physicists, Albert Einstein was born on this day (March 14) in the year 1879. His scholarly feats have made the name of Einstein synonymous with 'Genius'.
Today, on his 137th birth anniversary, we have gathered some amazing facts, we are sure, you wouldn't like to miss for anything:
  • It has been reported many a time that at birth, Einstein's head had a weird shape as the back of his head was very large
  • As a child, Einstein was slow in learning how to speak. His parents even consulted a doctor
  • His rebellious nature toward authority led one headmaster to expel him from school. One of his headmasters even commented that he would never amount to much in life
  • It has been claimed by some researchers that Einstein had a mild manifestation of autism or Asperger's syndrome
  • Contrary to the general belief that as a child, Einstein failed in Mathematics, the greatest Mathematician never failed in maths. In fact, before he was 15, he had already mastered differential and integral calculus
  • In 1895, at the age of 16, Einstein failed the entrance examinations for the Swiss Federal Polytechnic in Zurich, but obtained exceptional grades in physics and mathematics
  • After graduating in 1900, Einstein spent two years searching for a teaching post
  • While unemployed, Einstein started a small discussion group called 'The Olympia Academy' with some of his friends to discuss science and philosophy. It was during this time that he came up with the Theory of Relativity
  • Rather than the Relativity Theory, Einstein considered calling his masterwork the Invariance Theory because it was based on underlying invariances and certainties
  • Einstein did not only love to play the violin, but was also a great fan of classical music
  • When he was a child, his parents bought him the textbooks in advance, so that he could master them over the summer vacation
  • His great breakthroughs came from experiments performed in his head rather than in the lab. Einstein performed Gedanken experiments or thought experiments. At the age of 16, he once tried to picture in his mind what it would be like to ride alongside a light beam
  • Einstein believed in God. He defined God in an objective fashion but believed that God's work is reflected in the 'harmony of nature's laws and the beauty of all that exists.'
Here is another one from him: "Two things are infinite: the universe and human stupidity; and I'm not sure about the universe."
